At the last of the Tribeca dive bars a pitcher of PBR can be had for just $6. Which is good because you'll need to pound a half dozen or so to match the general level of sobriety.

Short for Please Don't Tell, the bar is accessed by heading down the stairs into Crif Dogs then into a phone booth. Press the intercom button and cross your fingers that they let you in because for all the nonsense it's actually a pretty decent bar.

Yes it is a frat bar, but the crowd's more Animal house than Phi Beta Innate-Sense-of-Entitlement. And the beers cheap, and they've got Guinness on tap.

This friendly Irish pub is an oais on the Upper East Side. It's just far enough away from 2nd Avenue to maintain a neighborhood vibe. The service is efficient and personable. And they've got a basketball machine.

The tourists and office workers who fill Foley's didn't just happen to wander in. They've come back year after year, and lunch after lunch, because Foley's has something sorely lacking in this area, a soul.

A genuine taste of the suburban Southwest. The food here is easily on par with TGI Friday's and the cocktails would give anything at Hooters a run for its money. Best yet they've got the city's first mechanical bull, the perfect after dinner stomach mixer.
