Billed as the nation's largest art parade, the Mermaid parade is a spirited throw back to a Coney Island of the 70s. The odd, but strangely suited combination of a family friendly event and a free boobie zone, make the Mermaid Parade a can't miss event. If you want to participate in the parade you can register here. Otherwise show up early, bring some a big bottle of water, and your swimsuit (in case you want to take a dip to cool off), and enjoy the day. The parade starts at 2pm.
