If they gave Grammy's to cover bands, the Cafe Wha All Star Band, would clean up. A band composed of front men, each member an impressvie talent within themselves, go up on stage every Wed-Sun and absolutely slay the crowds at the Cafe Wha, and tonight they're packing into a boat and hitting the Hudson for a $25 four hour cruise. Really this is a can't miss.
Reviews
New York Times - "The crowd waived their arms and swayed their seats. By 1 am, they squeezed between the tables to dance. At 3 am, ushers forced them out the door, so ending a typical night a Cafe Wha"
New York Post - "Power house talent - you'd be hardpressed to find a more exhilarating evening out"
Cafe Wha Invite
Due to absolutely overwhelming demand we have added a second cruise. And we promise this will be our best cruise ever.
September is by far the most pleasant month to cruise Manhattan. The temperature is still warm but not stifling as it is in August on a crowded boat, and the sun sets earlier adding to the moonlight ambience.
This will be our 11th moonlight cruise around Manhattan Island.
Please join us Monday September 19th, from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm as the Café Wha? takes to the high seas (well... the Hudson River).
We will have 3 decks to enjoy:
On deck 1 we are proud to present our biggest show ever, featuring 4 hours of continuous music (no breaks) with the entire Cafe Wha family: Élan, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Bryan Stephens, Inaya Day, Jason Murden, Mike Davis, Byron Moore, Jesus Peres, , Schon Jomel, Rosalyn McClore, Franco Morillo, The Reverend Conner Mack Tribble, Joe Barnes, Ron Long, Amadou Gaye, Jamiel Pridgen, Joe Barnes, Kenny X, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
On Deck 2 we will have D.J. Chumley spinning 4 hours of non-stop dancing music.
Deck 3 will be reserved for lounging, and enjoying the breathtaking sights of the Statue of Liberty, the beautiful sunset, and Manhattan Island.
At every Café Wha special event we go all out to give an enormous value. This cruise is no exception. We are charging only $25.00. The Circle Line (the thrill a minute), is more expensive, lasts only three hours, and has no entertainment.
There is a catch... The boat company asks that passengers buy drink tickets as they board the boat. This means that everyone will have to by 2 drinks ($5.00 per drink for a total of $10.00) as they board. This money goes to the boat company. Of course you can buy more drinks as the night goes on. This new policy is their way of getting a two drink minimum. We have no choice.
The boat travels rain or shine. And for those of you who have to work early, we have made arrangements to let you off at 10:30. So… No excuses.
We are boarding at 6:30 on the Queen of Hearts, located at Pier 40 @ Houston Street and the West Side Highway.
We expect to sell out. You can buy tickets on-line at Ticketweb.com or to make a reservation, please call 212-254-3706, and ask to speak to a manager about boat ride tickets. You can also respond to this e-mail with a phone number, and someone will contact you.
Thank you, and we hope to see you on the 19th.
