The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise is set to dock at Chealsea Piers this weekend and is open for tours. Previously a sealing vesel the Arctic Sunrise is now owned by Greenpeace and travels the worlds seas championing environmental causes. Over the past nine years the Arctic Sunrise and her crew have thwarted Japanese whalers, challenged the US nuclear program, and faced off with oil companies dumping illegally in open waters.
Tours are available from 11am-5pm at pier 59 (23d Street and Hudson River). The ship is docked alongside the face of the most southen pier next to the marina.
