More than 150 spaces and places around New York City open their doors to the public for free tours. Many of the listed destinations are places that are usually closed to the public, and this weekend is the only chance this year you'll have to see them.
Some highlights:
Marble Cemetery - The oldest non-sectarian burial ground in the city
The 53rd Street MTA Substation - One of a series of historic substations designed to generate the power required to operate the subway
77 Lux Studios - Formerly a gas station, this fashion photography studio features a 400-square foot pyramid skylight, roof terrace and fish pond.
71 John J. Harvey Fireboat - The first large, modern fireboat in America
63 High Bridge: Water Tower -Once a water pressure equalizing structure, this romantic Neo-Gothic tower overlooks the Harlem River.
