Real or cask conditioned ale is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and still contains live yeast. It's not pushed out of a keg with CO2. It's pulled from the keg by a handpump. It's rare, it's old school, and it tastes wholely different than keg beer. If you've never tried it before this year's Real Ale Festival at David Copperfield's is an excellent opportunity to give it a try.

Copperfield's is hosting the event til they run out of beer which probably means 3 to 4 days and the best beers will be gone the first night. If you can make it Thursday, that's the day to go.
