What a disaster this place has become...
So I was visiting NYC from CA for the first time in 5 years, and the first bar I wanted to go to with my NYC friends was Ty's. BIG MISTAKE. Even though they warned me that the place isn't the same as it used to be, I figured they were just jaded NYers. Boy was I wrong. The crowd was really weird - unfriendly, creepily cruisy in a totally un-hot way, and not at all beefy or fun for that matter. And whoever wrote about the nasty bouncer below must have been talking about the guy there that night. Total jerk. NEVER AGAIN! And tourist bears, don't bother. The bears are long gone.
