A drinking bar usually full, but rarely overcrowded. Not a bad place for picking up what with the enormous bar, friendly pool table, and a long shared sex line for the bathroom.

Almost Sorry I Moved out of the LES
I've been visiting The Whiskey Ward for years. I recently moved out of the LES and the one thing I can truly say I miss is this bar. Friendly, not overly crowded (with the exception of late weekends, 'natch). Good selecton of whiskeys of all stripes, good juke and friendly bartendresses. I never miss a chance to pop in for a shot or eleven. Recommended.

weekday refuge
An outstanding whiskey selection - lots of Scotch, bourbon, Irish and rye at *very* reasonable prices - is complemented by the friendly, no-BS staff and a fine lineup of brews. Even if you're not the world's biggest whiskey fan, you'll still like the beer, jukebox, pool table, and stable of colorful regulars. If you want to get away from the BS on the LES, just drop in any weeknight.

All substance and no bs
This bar is the rare gem that remains a mellow neighborhood bar while still offering plenty to the destination patrons. The bartenders are hands down some of the most friendly and capable in the city. The pool table is top notch...competitive without being intimidating. Jukebox is deep. Dj's are great. Whiskey Ward is about as good as it gets.

Great Whiskey, Great Staff, Great Time
Whiskey Ward is the last bastion of cool, laid-back watering holes on the Lower East Side. The staff is friendly, the Whiskey abundant, and the pool table inviting. While it can get crowded on weekends, you can almost always find a seat during the week. It's a great, unpretentious place to kick back and unwind. I hope it's here forever!
