This basement bar and prototypicaly cool jazz spot has been a Greenwich Village fixture for years. Stong talent and reasonable covers ensure it'll continue to be. |

A nice, inoffensive and surprisingly neighborhoody spot to go to dodge the Greenwich Village crush. Sure the décor seen better days, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. |

A dark, crappy, and quickly becoming notorious student bar where the drinks are cheap, the dance floor is over-crowded, everyone's trashed, and the waitresses keep coming around with jello-shots. Naturally this can be a fantastic time if you're of a certain age or frame of mind. |

At this jack of all trades bar/restaurant, there's an Italian restaurant, live music, comedy, and DJ nights, but the real draw is an all day $3 pint special on Wednesdays and Thursdays. |

Calling a bar a frat bar implies at least a partial college education. Failing such ready nomenclature this is a Drink too much, puke in the toilet, tip the bathroom attendant the change in your pocket, go back to the bar, sweat profusely, wait forever for a drink, get in a screaming match with your girlfriend and call her a slut, then cry on her shoulder on the cab ride back to Penn Station kind of place. It's also great for parties and fund-raisers. |
