This warm and worn new arrival has the look and feel of a pub far older than its years. Twenty beers on tap and a solid bar menu will hopefully ensure longevity to match its appearance. |

Sometimes referred to as Barona or BOA, this relaxed dive across from Thompkins Park manages to remain low-key and neighborhoody despite snakeskin bar stools and ruby red lighting. |

It's tiny and often crowded, but the light makes the crowd look as delicious as the tapas, and the wine list is both thoughtful and reasonable. |

Burger joint by day turns to frat boy playground by night. Women dance on the bar in high heels and feel empowered. Men feed them shot after shot to remind them that real power is a function of body weight and liver fortitude. |

A surprisingly low key bar in a location which is fast becoming anything but. The booths here are big comfortable and wrap around into almost a complete circle, there's couches in the back, and a wood burning fireplace. Service at the bar is hit and miss, but you're hear to sit down with friends anyway. |

This dog friendly sports bar is a second home for its neighborhood regulars, but can feel more like foreign territory for anyone else. |
