With a location like this a bar/restaurant such as Jack's can aspire to serving quality food and keeping the prices down, and that's about it. Jack does a fine job on both accounts. If you're in a hotel in Times Square and feel like nipping out for a quick low key pint and a spot of grub Jack's is a solid choice. |

Williamsburg is on its way to becoming the SoHo just east of the river. So a top-shelf cocktail and tapas bar like this is presumably quite safe from firebombing. However, the question still remains if the armies of gentrification have marched in enough numbers to keep them kitted out with home-made grenadine and goat cheese. |

When a bar is this small the people are the atmosphere. And the atmosphere here is usually great. Drinks specials vary nightly, but there's always a two for one deal from 12pm to 1am. |

What looks from the outside to be exclusively a gallery space is actually a bi-level bar within a gallery and not a bad bar at all at that. |

What better name for a new upscale wine and whisky bar in Carroll Gardens than JakeWalk - the semi-paralytic walk caused by imbibing bad bootleg booze. Boasting an impressive 50 wines by the glass, 120 varieties of whisky, and 20 cured meats this attractive and dimly lit bar is taking a shot at the title for Carroll Garden's go to date spot. |

Well worth the hike from Wall Street this Irish pub is a strong choice for after work drinks. The kitchen is head and shoulders above pub par and the crowd is a nice mix of two disparate groups, those who work downtown and those who live there. |

Warm, spacious, and homey this new bar and restaurant already has that worn in neighborhood feel even though it only opened in February 2008. There's a couple dozen bottled beers and it’s the only bar for miles in any direction with Speckled Hen on tap. |

Walking inside it's as if you've suddenly been magically transported around the world to a bog standard, always a bit too crowded, dull as you like pub in midtown Sydney. |

Votive candles, exposed brick, leather couches, and a working fireplace creates a rustic, living room aesthetic. Throw in stunning European waitresses and a vast selection of single malt scotches and you've got one of the best lounges in Murray Hill. |
