Tin ceilings, stained glass, and 30 odd years of grit worked into the bar make for a more authentic offering then is to be had from most of Teddy's neighbors. The sun filled front room is the place to be for brunch, and the long bar fills with baby boomers and their babies every night of the week.

A close second to McSorleys Ale House for title of oldest bar in NYC. Pete's Tavern is a surprisingly low key place for a quality pint, although you may wish to stear clear of the food.

More than a landmark it's just a great place for a drink. On summer afternoons the crowd spill out onto the sidewalk and the setting sun and cobblestone streets can't help but make you fall in love with New York all over again.

It's dingey. It's dark. The drink are weak and it smells. But it's Don Hill's, so you've got to go just to see what all the fuss is about.

Always a great time, always cheap, always too crowded to stand. Boasts some of the cheapest and best burgers in the city, but order them at the bar and save yourself the queue.
