A huge open bar/restaurant with a low key lounge below, The Coffee Shop has become an NYC fixture not for its food, diner decor, or moonlighting model waitstaff comprised, but its prime location -- but what a location it is.

A large but otherwise unremarkable pub is at its best in the summer when the patio makes a great place to sip a pint and people watch.

Four rooms with remarkably different atmospheres combine to form the Sidewalk Café. There's a clean and comfortable cafe, a dive bar, a downstairs pool table area, and a live music room. Two of the four rooms are all ages, so it's not a bad place to take your little brother when he's in town.

Add one part Irish bar, one part dive, and one part sports bar and you've got this popular 2nd Avenue NYU hangout. If that's not your scene grab a seat on the expansive patio and enjoy the ambience of Second Avenue.

A 24 hour restaurant, bar, and coffee shop with a unique architecture - an outdoor garden is connected to the street by an open air pathway that serves as the bar. A Sunday DJ brunch currently draws a crowd, but it remains to be seen if the idea can hold through the cold winter.

An indoor / outdoor trattoria that turns into a velvet rope scene to be seen on summer weekends. On other occassions it's a perfectly relaxed albeit somewhat pricey spot to enjoy some goat cheese pizza with the smoking hot European tourists staying at the hotel.

The patio here is one of the best people watching spots in the city. Go with a friend on a Sunday from 4-11pm and get two seriously tasty burgers for $5.
