The homogenity craving residents of the Avalon Chrystie building finally have a wine bar to call their own. Plasma TVs, track lighting, and high top tables create an atmosphere as reassuringly generic as a Starbucks Coffee. |

This Nolita location of Bar Veloce closed and became Bar Tonno which then closed and became Room 4 Dessert only to close and become Bar Veloce again. The long bar that used to run the length of the room has been done away with and its place are a number of small tables. |

The upstairs may look like it's been ripped from a Pottery Barn catalog, but downstairs their's a cavernous lounge replete with disco ball, and a pool room. If it sounds schizophrenic that's because it is. |

What better name for a new upscale wine and whisky bar in Carroll Gardens than JakeWalk - the semi-paralytic walk caused by imbibing bad bootleg booze. Boasting an impressive 50 wines by the glass, 120 varieties of whisky, and 20 cured meats this attractive and dimly lit bar is taking a shot at the title for Carroll Garden's go to date spot. |
