This Garden of Eden on the 15th floor is open in the summer for hotel guests only, but for the chance to sip a tropical drink in a hammock over midtown it might just be worth trying to sneak in. |

This colonial themed lounge in the 5 star Plaza Athenee reeks of priveledge. Inhale deeply and enjoy as you nurse your $17 martini. |

This beautiful, elegant space on the roof of the Grammercy Park Hotel feels more like a home in architectural digest than a hotel bar. Hotel guests only. |

There's a wading pool in the lobby. The pool has a bar. They sell swimsuits at the reception desk. The components are here for a truly great summer afternoon and you don't even have to be a hotel guest to take advantage. |

The basement lounge of the Morgan Hotel (ie JP Morgan Hotel) is plush, comfortable, and boasts a royalty on acid aesthetic that somehow manages to be really quite endearing. |
