At some point in the late 90's when the first millionaires started moving onto Avenue C the spiritual heart of New York City started making its way East from the Village to Brooklyn. Following shortly behind the city's spiritual liver took up residency at Moe's. Rich, vibrant, edgy and diverse, Moe's is never boring and everything a New York City bars should be. |

McKenna's pub may be only blocks from the Meatpacking district, but it's a world away. From noon to 9pm every single day of the week drinks are 2 for 1 and a burger can be had for a mere $5. |

The owner Barry McCormack, a one time star Irish footballer, ensures that no big soccer games are missed at this rock solid Irish bar. A decent kitchen attracts a relaxed neighborhood crowd that's missing from most other 3rd avenue offerings. |

Comfortable and off the beaten track Lolita Bar is that rare Manhattan bar where you could almost imagine you were in Brooklyn. |

A low-key dive. Boasts really cheap beer, a great juke country box, and a fiercely competive pool table. |

Loud and raucous, the student crowd here's the same as the other big frat bars on this block, but at least Jake's has a backroom that's free of TVs, so you can try and score digits without the sickly plasma palor. |

An anachronism in the newly self-conciously hip LES, Iggy's is a bar where people go to get trashed and have fun. |

So successful in Long Island they opened one in the E. Village. Luckily, the otherwordly sweet potato fries alone provide a solid raison d'être. |
