The bartenders' Ipods work as DJ and tend to do a pretty fantastic job. A good bar for regulars and those who come with friends to take over the garden or the back room.

A cute but otherwise unremarkable bar with hit and miss service is partly redeemed by an unheard of $10 patio brunch that includes a drink.

When a publicist opens a bar you can expect a bit of hype. They've dingied up the entrance of the old Sly to give it a speakeasy feel and set the word out that celebrities frequent the place and yet there's no doorman. The result is expected, people packed in like sardines each wondering why they're here.

Like Cherry Tree across the street this bar has a large and unique beer selection, an attractive space, and a killer garden. What it's missing is the beer pong frat crowd.

With free hot dogs, $3 pints of Rudy's Red (ie Michelob Red), giant banquets upholstered almost entirely from duct tape, and a huge garden is it any wonder Rudy's has been packing them in every night since it opened in the 1930's.

Under the J train and past the BQE this bar is far from condo Williamsburg and well into artist's Williamsburg. A gramophone chandelier, subway tile walls and a 50s era juke box set the tone, and a relaxed effortlessly cool crowd completes the scene.
