A tiny lounge in the back and a small pub like room in the front. It packs beyond capacity on weekends with a business casual contingent.

The music blares. The guys are all squares. If you're looking for a good time you're not going to find it here, because if you had a buck for every douchebag you'd be a millionaire.

A carefully crafted vibe supported by good music, dim lighting, and unusual French-Vietnamese cocktails elevates Verlaine above its many loungey counterparts in this area.

This dismal lounge above the tourist trap Café Bari was promoted as a secret celeb hangout, with a hush-hush inside scoops planted at Gawker and the NY Post. Have pity on the poor saps who made the trek here from Jersey.

Although anyone who's lived in Williamsburg more than a year will claim the scene is far past its sell by date, Union Pool remains an attractive and popular space. On a weeknight in the fall a spot by the firepit in the back garden is nothing short of a treasure.
