A nice, inoffensive and surprisingly neighborhoody spot to go to dodge the Greenwich Village crush. Sure the décor seen better days, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. |

It's tempting to dismiss this 70's themed bar simply out of hand, but spend an evening there and you'll soon quite suprisingly discover it's warm, comfortable and populated by some of the tastiest hipsters this side of Greenpoint. |

The first bowling alley to open in Brooklyn in over 50 years was built to look like it opened 30 years ago. More bar with a bowling alley than the other way around. |

On weekend nights this friendly Australian BBQ restaurant turned late night pick-up scene packs its railroad digs with teeming humanity. Depending on the individual the result is either a palpable sexuality of flesh pressed to flesh or a mild agoraphobia. |

Owned and operated by Dick Manitoba a former front man for The Dictators, Manitoba's, while not exactly a punk bar per se, remains true to the spirit of punk - camaraderie and anit-materialism. The crowd's as friendly as any you'll find, a Rheingold can be had for $3, and no cover live bands play here most nights. With a combo like that it's hard to think of a reason not to go. |

A young and heavy drinking crowd of loyal regulars show up for free nightly live music in one room and a vibrant bar scene in the other. And if the bands in between sets there's always table top Pac Man and a working old style photo booth. |
