This dimly lit bar is one of the very few venues in the city with a smoking exemption. It's sexy, reasonably priced, and so much fun you can't help but feel sorry for all those people standing in line outside of Le Souk a few blocks away.

There's a bed in the window at this Egyptian hookah bar. Take it over with four or five friends and sample on the 45 tobaccos they have on hand.

The low key basement lounge feels more like the kind of Morrocan café you might actually stumble into in the South of France rather than the NYC idealized creation of one. There's only bottled beer, the food is just passable, and the average age of the clientel is what you'd expect in a country with no drinking age.
