Bar Reviews
Definitely an esoteric vibe to it
Saw it once then couldn’t find the place the second time around. There’s no evidence a bar occupies this space except in the evening when it is open. This is without doubt a neighborhood bar, not the main destination for a LES bar hopper...unless you are low on cash or there’s no space at the slightly more popular restaurant next door. Still worth a visit, especially if you felt like a drink all of a sudden and had no time to go change out of your sweatpants!
Nice outlier from the LES bar cluster
Despite the unoriginal name, there’s a lot of uniqueness about this place. For one, it enjoys more space than the average bar in the area. Second, the comfy couches and tables are available to anyone that gets there early enough (no need 4 bottle service, so great place for a party). Lastly, you can leave your cleavage, “I know the owner” speech and $50 bills for the doorman safe at home cause the door policy is lax…just don’t expect your UES friends to venture all the way down here!!
Fav tapas bar for all the wrong reasons!
In case you don’t know Spanish, Tapeo basically means non-Hispanic owners, no Spanish customers in sight and waiters that can’t pronounce anything on the menu. Still, this extremely laid back bar has will impress anyone that will appreciate personalized attention, powerful sangria, lack of a dress code and tons of free bread!! Oh, if for some odd reason you were dying to hear the salsa version of Coldplay’s “Clocks” this bar is also for you.
