Bar Reviews
The Mecca of Hipsters
Avoid this bar like the plague on weekends, as everyone who wants a taste of the alternative comes in from Manhattan in an ironic twist of Bridge and Tunnel immigration. On off nights you will find genuine freaks, drinking with delight at one of the best bars and outdoor spaces in Williamsburg.

Creepy old dude and tired music
One of the few open mic's in Williamsburg, the Charleston has all of the ingredients for a cool lowkey bar: It's been around for years, serves pub grub out of a ramshackle kitchen, and has a kitschy vibe and cool relics. Then you realize that the open mic play list has four bands on it before it's open, the food is disgusting, and the drink special is bitterness served by an aging, cynical forty something who hates young people. Not a sexy place at all.
