By now we've all had enough time to process it. Most of us have made our own way through the four stages of grief after Black Tuesday, and here we are at acceptance. And with acceptance comes the necessary acknowledgement that although we may have voted there is still more we could have done more. Was there a group of Republicans that you could have taken to lunch at a cheap Mexican restaurant leaving them more concerned with their own ass then the one they planned to vote for? Or better yet maybe you could you have just taken them to lunch in Mexico on Tuesday? Think about it. Search your heart. We all could have done more. When all is said and done an apology is owed. The Republic of China has the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world, including ICBMS capable of striking the US, tactical nuclear weapons, and neutron bombs. It also has the largest army in the world - at 3 million it's nearly 6 times as large as that of the US. Despite a communist government and a frightening history of human rights violations, China has been granted most favored nation trade status by the US. On the other hand Cuba has an army of 70,000 troops (primarily engaged in supporting the civilian economy) and no nuclear capablity, has been under a US trade embargo since 1959. Recently the irrational and highly politicized persecution of the Cuban people has reached new depths of capriciousness with the barring of the members of the Buena Vista Social club from entrance to the US to prevent them from attending the Grammy awards. Watching the White House
BushFlash.com hosts a number of video's which might give many a supporter of the Bush presidency or the war in Iraq pause. One video shows Bush as he learns of the attack on the twin towers. He shows no reaction whatsoever. Asks no questions. Does nothing for twenty minutes as he continues to read a children's story. Another video features retired General Schwarzkopf explaining the reasons why America should not seek to occupy Iraq (following the first gulf war).
