Grand Canyon Skywalk
The view from the top of the Empire State can be pretty awe inspiring. Outside, air whipping through you hair, 1200ft in the air - you can access that rarely felt deep in your gut sensation - awe. Of course the lines, commercialization, and oppresive crowds distract from it, but it's still there - wham - awe. Now, imagine same concept, but swap the urban canyon for a natural one and instead of being 1200ft in the air lets make it oh...I don't know, say 4000ft up. Then for good measure make the floor out of totally transparent glass with nothing beneath your feet but the distant ground below. You want to talk awe. Well, it's called the Grand Canyon Skywalk and it's pretty much unbeatable in the awe department. It's in Arizona, and opens early 2006. Just might be time to book your reservations.

The History of Names
The Baby Name Wizard is one of the most useful, interesting, and beautiful Java apps that we've ever seen on the web. That's one heck of a recomendation for a baby name chooser, eh? Well, wait til you see it. Drawing on historical social security records from baby name data, the app quickly shows you a graphical history of any of the most common 1000 names. The dazzle of the initial graph can easily distract you, so make sure you remember to try typing a name up top for an individual name history.

Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists
Taxidermy, a long neglected and frequently derided branch of the creative arts, has been making a stir on the internation art scene recently thanks in large part to the the work of Minnesota Association of Rogue Taxidermists. MART has been pushing the boundries of traditional taxidermy with impressive works like
Two Headed Chick, the
Greater Lesser Yeti and
Lady Frampton. Rumor has it that they are accepting donations for human taxidermy subjects for projects including 4 Buttocked Male and Female with Toes for Teeth. So now may be the time to ammend your will.
