One of the great promises of the internet is to bring publishing to masses. Anyone can author a simple web page and publish at zero cost. This ability has ushered in the information revolution, but it is the fact that anyone can publish with complete anonymity which has created a deluge of innumerable hoaxes. Thankfully we have the Museum of Hoaxes to catalog them for us. Odd are you've fallen for at least one of these.
