The Candiru, a member of the catfish family, thin and eel shaped, head encased in layers of spines, a darling little fish really, very cute, it's also the only know vertebrate parasite which takes human hosts. It uses its keen sense of smell to follow minute traces of ue, usually this means traveling up the urethra and into the bladder of the unfortunate animal or person. If the fish is too large to fit it'll burrow its way into the next available orifice. Its spiked umbrella shaped head makes it impossible to remove without surgery. Sounds like an urban legend right?
