Don't even bother with this one

This place was such a scam. I paid ten dollars to get in to see someone play, and then they didn't even let him play. They kept pushing his time slot back for hours and I finally had to go. It was ridiculous. The bar was dirty, the bartenders and sound guy had serious attitude, and the drinks were expensive for such a crappy place. If you're a musician, don't bother with this one, they'll scam all your fans out of their money and never let you play. Besides, the sound system buzzed and popped.

169 Bar is an oasis

Great bar, fantastic music, cant find anything like it in Manhattan, and I've tried!! Dont understand the negative review but must be from some "one shot band" situation. Didn't pay anything to get in, apparently charging is up to the band and only thier fans, so nobody got charged in my group. Whatever, they were OK & only played a short time. But the music played after was awesome!!! I would definitly come back for the over all vibe!!
